(“MemeStrategy” or “the Company”; Stock Code: 2440.HK), an Asia publicly listed digital asset company, today announced its title sponsorship of the MacPherson Festival X HONG KONG STAND-UP COMEDY COMPETITION (the “Competition”), aiming to start the new year with laughter for all. As Hong Kong’s first-ever Cantonese stand-up competition, the event is organized by So Fa So Cool and features the world-renowned meme platform 9GAG as its Official Online Platform. The preliminary and final rounds will be held on 24 and 25 January 2026 at MacPherson Stadium, with tickets going on public sale tomorrow (8 January).

So Fa So Cool is an entertainment venture founded by the renowned Hong Kong rap and hip-hop duo FAMA (C-Kwan and Luk Wing). The Competition marks the first event organized by So Fa So Cool since its inception. MemeStrategy and So Fa So Cool quickly found common ground, sharing a commitment to supporting the growth of Hong Kong’s creative and cultural sector and injecting fresh vitality into the industry.

Supporting the Growth of Stand-Up Comedy and Cultivating Talent

The Competition aims to identify and nurture promising stand-up comedians, promote the art form, and introduce a wider audience to its culture and performers. By empowering the live audience to act as judges, the event enhances engagement and shares the joy of comedy with the public.

Results 100% Decided by the Live Audience, One Ticket for Two Nights of Comedy

The HONG KONG STAND-UP COMEDY COMPETITION introduces a unique format, offering a single ticket price of HK$480 for access to both the preliminary and final rounds. The exclusive pre-sale for KKBOX and The Club members received an overwhelming response, prompting the release of additional tickets on both platforms. With public ticket sales opening tomorrow (8 January), this is an event not to be missed.

Another feature of the Competition is that the results will be determined entirely by the live audience. The open audition attracted nearly 200 applicants, and following a rigorous selection process, 12 contestants – including influencers and stand-up first-timers – have advanced to the preliminary round on 24 January. The audience will serve as the judging panel, selecting the top six to progress to the finals on 25 January.

The ultimate winner – crowned Hong Kong’s first-ever “Cantonese Stand-Up Champion” – will also be chosen by the audience and will receive a cash prize of HK$30,000, professional audio equipment, a stage style allowance, and a coveted performance contract to launch their comedy career.

In this thrilling and laughter-filled competition, FAMA will take the stage as event hosts. The program also features special performances by some of the most recognized names in Cantonese stand-up, including Vivek Mahbubani (Ah V), one of Hong Kong’s few bilingual comedians; Jiang Zihao, a leading Cantonese comedian from the Chinese Mainland; and DJ, a versatile creator from Guangzhou. Their appearances promise to make the program even more memorable for the audience
