Highlight: A Multi-Million HKD Vintage Pokémon Showcase Celebrating Its 30th Anniversary

As fans worldwide eagerly anticipate the “30th CELEBRATION” special merchandise, the most eye-catching highlight of this year’s Grade10 FEST is the multi-million-HKD vintage card exhibition presented by a leading trading card platform in the mainland Chinese, POKECOLOR. The focal point is the highly coveted Umbreon Gold Star (CGC Pristine 10), one of the hardest cards to obtain in the Pokémon Gold Star series. Originally requiring 70,000 points in the PLAYERS membership system, the highest redemption threshold at the time, this is currently the only Umbreon Gold Star in the world to achieve the CGC Pristine 10 grade. Also on display is the 1996 first-edition Charizard hand-signed by original illustrator Mitsuhiro Arita, which also holds a CGC Pristine 10 grade, making it the only one of its kind globally. The event also features the immersive “A Journey Through Time” exhibition, meticulously recreating classic scenes from four golden eras. From the original 1996 home settings and Game Boys to the animated series and card battle tables of 2006, all the way to the present day, card enthusiasts of all generations can relive their childhood memories and capture photos in familiar surroundings.

The creative photo wall at this event was specially designed by renowned local artist Little Thunder, showcasing the expressions of females opening card packs through her unique brushstrokes. In recent years, card collecting is no longer just a male-dominated game or hobby. With major IPs launching an increasing number of special cards and merchandise, many female fans have joined the community. Another highlight of Grade10 FEST is its exclusive collaboration with Little Thunder. All ticket holders will receive a special welcome gift: a Little Thunder card pack. Exclusive Launch of New TCG Series:
Cross-Industry Appearances by “Peach Girls” and TVB’s “The Joy of Nature”!
World’s First “Young and Dangerous TCG” Pre-Launch!

This year, Grade10 FEST introduces a broader mix of entertainment elements, positioning itself as a premier platform for new card releases. The popular cheerleading squad “Peach Girls”, representing the professional volleyball league, will make their Hong Kong debut with an exclusive launch of physical collectible cards. Members Strawberry, Shihan, Moli, Wanwan, Xuanxuan, and Aili will be present to energize the crowd, delivering dynamic dance performances and hosting interactive autograph sessions tomorrow and Sunday afternoon (20 and 21 June). MemeStrategy has also been officially authorized by TVB for the popular travel program “The Joy of Nature”, which has chosen to launch its limited-edition collectible cards for the first time at this event. The program’s four presenters, Joey Leung, Maggie Lam, Michelle Ip, and Verena Wong, will also personally attend Grade10 FEST on the afternoon of 20 June to host a fan meet-and-greet. This collaboration between entertainment IPs and card culture blurs the boundaries between collecting and live performance, creating a more integrated and immersive experience.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s classic comic “Young and Dangerous”, the world’s longest running comic series, makes a return to the “Jianghu”. The world’s first “Teddy Boy” TCG pre-launches at the Hobby X booth, featuring the highly limited “Ekin” Boxset and the “Eight Heroes” eight-card Promo Set with folder. This is a brand-new masterpiece that die-hard comic fans and TCG players cannot miss.

Trainers Assemble for the First Cosplay Party with Surprise Appearances by Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny

As the first card show to invite fans to attend in cosplay, the event has transformed the venue into a large-scale anime carnival, creating a vibrant and immersive atmosphere. Numerous fans arrived dressed as their favorite anime characters to connect with others. Adding to the atmosphere, two iconic figures from the Pokémon animated series, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny, representing the healing and law enforcement realms, made surprise appearances, interacting and posing for photos with card enthusiasts throughout the venue.

More Excitement: Main Stage Programs Ignite the Weekend

Building on the high-energy, interactive atmosphere of previous editions, this year’s main stage and exhibition areas feature a dynamic lineup of programs designed to maximize audience engagement. The event’s official credit card, WeWa, returns with the heart-stopping “WeWa Card-breaking Challenge”. Over the three-day event, five intense sessions will take place on the main stage, where participants can challenge themselves in a blind-box style “card break” and sorting race, experiencing firsthand the thrill of tearing open card packs. Winners have the chance to take home Pokémon vintage cards worth over HKD 50,000, which attracted a large number of card fans to participate on the opening day.

Additionally, top Japanese card trading platform Clove will launch the highly anticipated “Clove’s Oripa: Strike of Destiny” interactive game on the main stage tomorrow (20 June), giving away 20 highly sought-after cards to test participants’ luck. The official grading partner, GEA (Grading Eleven Authentication), will unveil three heavyweight cross-industry trendsetting items during the event. The first is the second wave of the limited-edition card brick “Hoshizora no Kagayaki” (Radiance of the Starry Sky), created in collaboration with Kouki Saitou, the legendary Japanese TCG illustrator behind the “Poncho Pikachu” series. This integration of modern art craftsmanship into card accessories has drawn significant interest from design and card enthusiasts. The other collaboration series are the limited-edition card bricks for “GEA × Young and Dangerous TCG” and “GEA × Peach Girls"”, fans definitely should not miss out.

Beyond stage interactions and new product launches, the physical auctions are equally compelling for hardcore geeks and collectors. Madison Auction will host the “Madison Crazy Card Auction” tomorrow and Sunday (20 and 21 June), featuring a synchronized global online bidding mechanism. The auction includes carefully curated, highly discussed and stylish rare collectible cards, with physical displays available throughout the three-day event, allowing attendees to appreciate these exquisite items up close and feel the intensity of trendsetting auctions.

The unprecedented scale of this year’s event is made possible by the strong support of over 120 exhibitors from Mainland China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, and Southeast Asia. Industry giants such as China’s leading card platform POKECOLOR, sports card trading platform Card Hobby, renowned US auction house Goldin, grading authority CGC Cards, and Japanese card trading platform Clove have set up stylish booths, fostering a vibrant trading atmosphere and showcasing Hong Kong’s unique charm as Asia’s card culture and trading hub.
